Shutter vision …

                                     beyond the obvious

Has anyone seen Spring?

I have resisted archiving my winter scene photos.

It is such a pleasure to click through them and be taken back to those still, quiet days where the fog would roll in and cover the pine and fir needles with those incredible crystals of hoarfrost.   There was such a sense of peace and serenity.

But that was Winter and it is now officially Spring.  Decidedly, “I will close my ‘winter file’ and go with the flow”.  Time to get out there with my camera and discover the fresh new colors of Spring … those vibrant Mountain Bluebirds have returned for nesting and are captivating subjects.  Okay, I’m geared to go.

However, on the morning of my planned ‘capturing signs of Spring’ day, Mother Nature showed up in her white gown:  4 inches of freshly fallen snow covered the ground.

It’s very interesting to witness (in retrospect) my reactions.  Resistance, disappointment, and a lot of whining!  “It’s the 14th of April for heaven’s sake.”  Yet, the birds were just fine with it all.  It was a beautiful sight to behold – I say that now.  Unfortunately, in the moment, I allowed my expectations to get in the way of actually seeing beyond the obvious.

Spring Is!

Spring Is!

I love this photo.

I see it as a fun reflection of myself in a quest to reach my desires, goals, possibilities.

I park myself and contemplate.

I plot all the possible avenues of ‘attack’.

AND, often I just sit there and wait for something to happen.  STUCK.  What approach can I take to move forward?  Is it trust or action – or both?

How do I get there?  What is that “something” just beyond the obvious?
